So this week was super
good, culminating with yesterday. yesterday Elder Nash from the 70 came and
gave us a training. I just didn’t want to leave the building with him in it. He
was so filled with the spirit and it was just so edifying. We learned how to help
investigators progress and gain the trust of members. He was such a scriptorian
as well. He had a scripture for everything.
So on Tuesday we had a
cool day, and it was because we didn’t teach any English people! Not trying to
be racist, but we had 7 lessons with all Hispanics! I felt great that day. Met
some cool people who have potential.
Wednesday was a super
weird day because we went and visited this less active family. The part that
made it weird is that she was explaining to her friends that were present as
well that they no longer believe the church to be the correct one, and that
this nondenominational one is. But what made it even weirder was the fact that
she asked us to give her son a blessing after the lesson. I was like, "You
don’t believe we have the correct authority to do this, so why are you asking
us to do so?" Super weird.
Thursday was
Thanksgiving, and it was good. Started off with a turkey bowl, then linner with
the branch president, and then a late dinner with another member. I enjoyed it
very much.
Friday and Saturday
was fun because I was on exchanges with Elder Gillman from Utah. We got along
great and had some fun.
Yesterday after the
zone conference we went and had a great lesson with Sarah and Agusting. It was
so spiritual and great! I feel super pumped up right now for the work.
Love you all!
Elder Porter
