El invierno ha llegado

So this week the winter finally hit. We got snow on Saturday, and it stuck! So it’s time for us to look more like the Michelin tire man than missionaries in white shirts and ties!

But this week has been good. Tuesday we had a zone conference and we learned how to more smoothly present the restoration on a first contact. It has been going really well using that.
After zone conference we went out finding and just seemed to have tons of success. The Lord works in mysterious ways, giving us the hard week before zone conference so then we could be spiritually prepared to receive all the things we needed to during the training.

We had some really good lessons with members this week.

But the coolest part of the week was on Saturday when I got to go to the baptism of Roberto (the one I taught when I was in Indy before) and of his friend. But even cooler was that Hermano Molina (who I taught for 3 transfers) did the baptism of Roberto’s friend! It was a super cool experience!

Things doing good. I don’t really like the cold weather, but come what may and love it :)

Una semana un poco larga

So this week was kind of long, and really hard. We spent a loooottt of time this week tracting, and didn’t talk to any Hispanics, or anyone at all really. It was kind of hard because we tried really hard every night during planning to find out where God wanted us to go finding, but then it didn’t seem to turn out as we expected it to. But God had other things planned for us. I learned a lot more this week to trust in God, and that I really hadn’t developed some of the Christ-like attributes as well as I would have liked. But it was a really humbling week as well.

But then on Saturday we had some really cool success. We found a new investigator when a lesson fell through, and had a good lesson with some former investigators we had called. But most of all was this lesson we had with a less active.

He hasn’t been contacted very much by the missionaries because he works till like seven every day. But we got a hold of him and had a really spiritual lesson, he even teared up. We were able to testify to him that it is time to come back to the church and he agreed with us. But sadly his brakes on his car didn’t work, so he couldn’t come to church. But we stopped by again on Sunday and had another good lesson. he is so sincere and awesome!

Then yesterday we had a good lesson with this less active family. Less actives are hard sometimes because if they were investigators they would have been dropped. But they made those covenants with the Lord, so we keep letting them know that we are here for them. But I really like to work with less actives because they have already made those covenants, and it is important that they keep them. So I hope to help them out a lot.

Love you all

Ya estoy en Indianapolis otra vez

So I am now in Indy again, but on the east side of the city. I am with a new Elder who just got out of training named Elder Shepherd. He’s pretty sick and is a very diligent missionary.

I think transfer week is probably the hardest week. Because when you get to your new area, I always feel like a little depressed. But then things pick back up again.

I don’t know why, but this week we have had the hardest time finding Hispanics. So that is something we are hoping improves this week.

We had some fun lessons with our progressing investigators Sarah and Agustin. They are preparing to be baptized on Dec 5. She is white, and he is Mexican. So lessons are bilingual, which is kind of hard because someone is always left out of the loop.

I really like the members here in Indy, so I’m happy to be back again. It’s always fun to see old friends :)

On Saturday we had a whole district service project with UNCLE BUCK!!!!! We helped him clean out his garage that was just full to the brim with stuff.  Then he fed us some nummy pulled pork sandwiches. I love him so much! He’s awesome!

Sunday we had a cool lesson that was totally spirit driven with some less actives. So hopefully they felt the spirit and will come to church this coming week!

Yesterday night was WHY I BELIEVE and Sarah spoke at it. It was super cool!

Sorry no pics. My camera is broken.

Love ya all!
