Una semana de felicidad y tristeza

So this week was really good, and really bad at the same time.

The reason it was really good is that AUDEL GOT BAPTIZED!!!!!!!!!!!!

The reason it was really bad is that Rosa didn’t get baptized :(

So apparently like 2 weeks ago Rosa met this guy, who she really started to like. And then kinda went head over heels for him. But he told her that he would only stay with her if she didn’t get baptized. SO after church on Sunday was the last time we talked to her. Her phone was disconnected on Monday, so we weren’t able to contact her at all. We were super bummed about it. Her member friend talked to her yesterday on Facebook, and she said she is really sorry that she couldn’t go to the baptism, but that her bf wouldn’t let her go. So we aren’t so sure if she thought she was still getting baptized or not, but there was no way to talk to her. We still have high hopes that she will come back when she gets back to her senses. But I have seen it over and over that, "the biggest reason for unhappiness in life is giving up what you want most for what you want in the moment." I have a testimony of putting the important things first, and then the rest will follow.

Audel’s baptism was really good :) Wendy was able to give a short talk on baptism and it was super sweet :) He was so happy and said that he feels super good :) I am so grateful for the opportunity I have had to come back to this area and take part in the progressing of Wendy and Audel :) Now we just have to get Wendy’s sisters baptized, we are just waiting on the fathers permission. He seems to be coming along, but a lot slower than we would like.

This week has been really fun because we are working with a lot of people in the branch trying to get them to go to the temple on the 28th of May. So we have started a lot of Family History. I love family history and I love helping people find their ancestors so they can take them to the temple :) 

This week we have put a special emphasis on finding as a companionship because we realized that our investigator pool was getting low. We were able to find some cool families, a family from Guatemala, and then another Family from Honduras and Nicaragua :)

To all those mothers and those who will be mothers at some point, I say Happy Mother’s Day :) 

We have had such a busy week! It’s been good, but exhausting at the moment. But when life is busy there is no time to be bored, and that is the best part :) 

So we will be having a baptismal service on Saturday!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHOOOOOOO :) Audel (Wendy’s husband) is going to be baptized! He has progressed so much and we are so excited for him :) His wife says that he reads the BOM every night before he goes to bed. He has such great desires to learn, and he is a stud too :) Great additions to the branch here in Indianapolis :) Rosa is still on date for Saturday as well :) She is super excited and it is awesome :) She is such a happy person and the gospel is just what she needs in life.

So we went on exchanges with Elder Lucas and Elder Scoville this week. It was a really good exchange :) I was able to get back into contact with one of the investigators I had when I was here the first time. Her name is Martha. She still wants to be baptized, and we are going to try and meet with her again and get her baptized :) 

We had MLC on Friday, and I have never been to a meeting where I felt so inspired to be better before. We talked a lot about teaching skills, and about having charity, and that is something everyone can be better at, especially me :) 

And as is common among missionaries, I was privileged to skype my family :) It was great :) And it is so great to have a great branch president who allows us to crash his house and skype home. 

Life is good, and the work is progressing quickly :) 

LOVEs

Muchisimo exito esta semana :)

So this week was super great! For starters we were able to get 18 member present lessons, which is a personal record for both me and Elder Thayne. I feel like this transfer is going to go great :)

So we have met with Rosa almost every day this week, she is progressing very nicely and even though she had a hard time accepting that she shouldn’t get tattoos, she says she will do what God wants :) 

We have also had some really good lessons with Audel (Wendy’s husband) he is excited to be baptized :) Tanner came again with us on Sunday to teach them, and he helped with Audel’s concerns a lot :) 

We had a miracle at church as well. An investigator named Patricia that we have been trying forever to get to church came for the last part of sacrament meeting and for Gospel Principles! /it was a very happy moment :)

We also had a less active that Elder Ryan and I found come to church as well. Her name is Carmen and we have been working with her a ton! 

We were able to talk to a less actives husband named Juan, and we told him pretty much that he needs to stop waiting, and to just get baptized. He said he would pray about it and see if that’s what God wants him to do.
