So this week was kind
of long, and really hard. We spent a loooottt of time this week tracting, and didn’t
talk to any Hispanics, or anyone at all really. It was kind of hard because we
tried really hard every night during planning to find out where God wanted us
to go finding, but then it didn’t seem to turn out as we expected it to. But
God had other things planned for us. I learned a lot more this week to trust in
God, and that I really hadn’t developed some of the Christ-like attributes as
well as I would have liked. But it was a really humbling week as well.
But then on Saturday
we had some really cool success. We found a new investigator when a lesson fell
through, and had a good lesson with some former investigators we had called.
But most of all was this lesson we had with a less active.
He hasn’t been
contacted very much by the missionaries because he works till like seven every
day. But we got a hold of him and had a really spiritual lesson, he even teared
up. We were able to testify to him that it is time to come back to the church
and he agreed with us. But sadly his brakes on his car didn’t work, so he
couldn’t come to church. But we stopped by again on Sunday and had another good
lesson. he is so sincere and awesome!
Then yesterday we had
a good lesson with this less active family. Less actives are hard sometimes
because if they were investigators they would have been dropped. But they made
those covenants with the Lord, so we keep letting them know that we are here
for them. But I really like to work with less actives because they have already
made those covenants, and it is important that they keep them. So I hope to
help them out a lot.
Love you all
Elder Porter
